This test method is intended to determine the strength of attachment of straps, nailed or stapled uppers, to the sole of completed footwear. The method is applicable to all footwear with uppers having straps less than 35 mm wide or uppers attached to the sole by means of nails or staples. The attachment strength of straps of 35 mm or wider should be assessed by measuring their bond strength according to SATRA TM411.
